# CoCAD > CoCAD is a free, MIT licensed desktop app for OpenSCAD models on Linux, Windows and macOS. An AI agent changes the model over MCP, the window renders it again, and the user checks a slice preview for errors before printing. It exports STL, 3MF and STEP, and it makes path traced photo renders. OpenSCAD does the geometry through its CLI, so the user must install OpenSCAD too. A development snapshot with the Manifold backend is much faster than the 2021 release. The slice view is for preview only: it has no travel moves, supports or bridges, and it writes no G-code. The app has no telemetry. ## Docs - [Website](https://cocad.cgeosoft.com/): Overview, the agent loop, MCP setup and downloads - [README](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/cgeosoft/cocad/main/README.md): Install, usage, MCP tools, parameter sets, CLI, Customizer syntax and build steps - [Releases](https://github.com/cgeosoft/cocad/releases): Downloads and release notes ## MCP - [MCP server](https://github.com/cgeosoft/cocad#mcp-server): Client setup, the tool list, behavior and security The client runs `cocad mcp` as a stdio server.
